Cool products are all the rage today. I’m no different than others. I like neat gadgets. On the plus side I am great with technology so it is something that many people ask me about before they buy something new. I love to make recommendations and teach people about new technology. In today’s article I’m going to talk about five new tools I am excited about.
First, let me tell you about the Amazon Echo
I was an early adopter of this home appliance. I got in on the early release program and I have loved the results. The Echo I use is mostly for playing music. I have it connected to my Amazon prime account and my Pandora account. I love being able to say, “Alexa, play Kingdom Heirs radio on Pandora.” And bang! There is my music. The sound is good and the volume is controlled by voice as well.
Other Echo tools I use are the timer when cooking and the weather feature. This just cracks the surface of what all these can do. You can play games and do searches. And for parents, there is a monitoring feature in the iPad app so you know if your kids have been listening to things you don’t want them to listen to.
The second gadget I want to talk about is mesh networking boxes at home. Now this may sound confusing but it is really stapraight forward. Many homes have trouble with wifi reaching all area of the house. Previously to fix this took multiple routers and some hefty knowledge to configure. Today though there are mesh networking tools that expand your wifi signal while keeping the setup easy.
i want to recommend the Amplifi series of mesh networking tools.
I have looked at several different brands and really like this one. It is simple to setup, has an app to control and analyze the network, and is easy to expand. If you are having problems using your wifi pick this baby up soon.
Third, another great gadget to add to you home is a good wireless printer. This makes it easy to have a central location for people to print to and you don’t have to have a printer in each room. But please, please, please remember to secure the printers password. You don’t want your neighbor printing to your printer. Here are a couple of good ones:
HP and Brother all make great printers. I have always used HP and recommend them above any others.
Fourth I would recommend getting a cool 3D printer to play with. With these printers you actually print objects. Imagine printing your own toys and gifts.
I want to get a new 3D printer myself. I want to be able to print toys and game accessories. I had a maker bit but never out it together and gave it to a friend. I recommend getting one you don’t have to assemble yourself.
The last gadget I want to recommend is get a Kindle. You should be reading everyday and carrying a Kindle is great way to do so. There are a variety of them. I want to get an Oasis. That is the newest and best model. I love my Kindle when I am traveling.
What gadgets do you love? Let me know in the comments.
